Testimonial:
Bill and Margaret Moule founded Moule Paint & Glass in 1949. Bill originally came to California in the 30s and worked as a miner. There he met and married Margaret Payne. They moved from Grass Valley to the Baguio area in the Philippines, along with their first two children. When the Philippines fell to Japan in WWII, the Moules hid in the countryside but were eventually captured and lived in a war prison camp until the end of the war. During their time in the Philippines, Bill had been commissioned as an officer in the US Army. In addition, he had contracted polio and was unable to resume mining upon returning to California. Instead, he started a house painting business. A few years later, he received back pay from the army for his WWII service and was able to buy out his supplier, who was retiring. Thus was born Moule Paint & Glass.

BRIAR PATCH CO-OP
BriarPatch’s solar system utilizes SunPower’s E20 solar panel in an array that consists of 680 panels, each delivering 435 Watts.
BriarPatch will now have 55% of their total electrical use provided by their solar energy system. “We are excited to move into our 41st year knowing that we have significantly reduced our energy consumption. We see this as a meaningful way to return something to our co-op members and our greater community in Nevada County and beyond.” states Chris Maher, BriarPatch general manager.
MINER’S FOUNDRY
The system generates 37.6 kW of solar power, utilizing SunPower’s 470 watt panels to power the 9,000 square foot facility.
“We see going solar as an extension of our legacy and commitment to innovation, sustainability, environment, and our community,” Gretchen Bond, the executive director of the Miners Foundry said.
By producing 90 percent of its power onsite, and with the special financing offered through California Solar, the Miners Foundry will save more than $235,000 over the next 20 years, followed by even more substantial savings in subsequent years.
North San Juan Fire Protection District
We were honored to be selected to install a grid-tied solar-plus-batteries system for the North San Juan Fire Protection District in 2019, now our third fire station solar install. It is also the first local fire station to have double power redundancy in the event of a blackout, pairing solar-plus-batteries with the existing generator.
The project was completed in October 2019. The system installed has a 25-year warranty on the panels, 12-year warranty on the inverter and 25 years on the workmanship.
How does commercial benefit your business?
Return On Investment (ROI)
Switching to solar power for your commercial building is one of the easiest ways to get the maximum return on your investment.
Reduce Your Operating Expenses
Your energy savings will continue long after you’ve paid off your solar system.
Stabilize Your Energy Expenditure
PG&E rates are, at best, unpredictable. With a solar system, you always know how your budget is being impacted each month.
Your Property Value Goes UP!
PG&E won’t add value to your commercial property, but a solar system will!
Tax Credits and Depreciation
Not only can you benefit from the Solar Investment Tax Credit, you can also take the first-year 100% depreciation (minus the tax credit) deduction off your bottom line.
